A Brief History of Central Public School

Central Public School is located in downtown Kingston.  The school opened in 1888 and was a small limestone building.  A fire destroyed that building and a new school was built.   Additions and major renovations have taken place since that time.  Central currently serves 155 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and shares its building with The Old McDonald Daycare.  We are twinned with Sydenham Public School.
